Gang intervention units have specialized groups and members, each in charge of different tasks when intervening with gangs. Some members of the units work with and collect information from gang members to help bring down other violent criminals and the most wanted gang members. They also have groups within the unit who infiltrate gangs to find information on initiations and locations to help prevent and stop them.
Location
-
Gang intervention units are located throughout the country and vary in the number of teams in each state. Call your nearest police department to inquire about the intervention units in your local area. Additionally, official city and state websites may list this information as well.
