Year round hot springs are plentiful in Nevada. Carson Hot Springs, Steamboat Hot Springs Healing Center and Spa and David Walleys Hot Springs Resort and Spa are but a few. These natural springs are within a half-hour's drive of tourist cities such as Reno, Lake Tahoe and Virginia City. Visit these pools for a dip in the pools or spa treatments such as aroma oil bath with essential oils and signature massages. The geothermal water is fresh from the Sierras, and contains trace mineral elements that naturally rejuvenate the skin. Most hot springs offer individual and family packages.
Lake Mead and Hoover Dam

Lake Mead is an optimal choice for family houseboating vacations. Forever Houseboats and Fun Country Marine Houseboats are a few of the available rental companies. As of 2011, rental rates range from about $471 to $656 per day, depending on the season and size of houseboat. Small motor boats are available for additional cost for water skiing and wakeboarding.
For a historical day trip visit the Hoover Dam. Since 1937, the Hoover Dam welcomes close to 1 million visitors each year. The historical landmark is located 30 miles from Las Vegas, at the Nevada/Arizona border. It is in close proximity to Lake Mead. Tours run every day of the year, as of 2011.
