Station Activities for a School Halloween Party
Whether you are a teacher or parent looking for fun Halloween activities for the classroom Halloween party, there are a variety of activities available that kids will love and you won't have to stress about planning. The key to planning station activities is simplicity and avoiding time consuming projects. Does this Spark an idea?

Pumpkin Painting
-
Carving pumpkins is no longer the only pumpkin decoration choice available. Pumpkin painting is a great station activity at a Halloween party. Teachers can either have children bring in a pumpkin of their own or provide affordable miniature pumpkins for the activity. Children are not limited to a jack-o-lantern face when they paint a pumpkin. By providing a variety of paint colors, children are only limited by their imagination. Water-soluble paint and plastic smocks will help keep messes to a minimum and make for an easy clean up.
Halloween Word Search
-
In order to take advantage of critical thinking skills, a Halloween word search is a great option for an activity station. Using Halloween-related words such as pumpkin, ghost, goblin, treats and witch, children will be able to take a minute from what can be an over-stimulating Halloween party and focus on using their brains to search for the Halloween words. A word search will also help reinforce spelling skills.

Halloween Cookie Decoration
-
Sugar cookies can be cut into basic circles or Halloween-specific shapes. Halloween cookie decoration is a simple station activity because children can be free to create whatever kind cookie they so desire. Pre-made sugar cookies are necessary so they can be ready to decorate when the children get to the table. Provide children with a variety of frosting colors, sprinkles and candies to make a spooky ghost, a scary pumpkin or anything else they desire. The activity can be extended or shortened with ease because there really isn't a finishing point for cookie decoration.
Lollipop Ghosts
-
Children can create spooky or happy ghost faces on their lollipop ghosts. Lollipop ghosts are a fast activity that takes very little preparation. Use either pre-cut pieces of 3 x 3 inch white felt or fabric, or facial tissue that does not have to be pre-cut. Have the children wrap the felt or facial tissue around the lollipop, essentially forming the head of the ghost, and then take a piece of ribbon or yarn and tie it around the base creating a bow tie. Using a black marker, children can draw eyes or faces on the head of the ghost. The activity takes a matter of minutes to complete and children will be happy with a take-home activity that is edible.
