The greater Atlanta area is rich in camps for kids. The numerous camps are divided into different categories on many websites. The categories include general, art, theater and museum, academics, martial arts, nature and outdoor, science, sports and technology, summer and day camps. Parents should have no problem finding a fun camp for their children whether it's for the summer, the winter or spring break.

Day Camps

Tumbletots Summer Camp offers two camp dates for ages 2 to 6. The summer camp dates go from June 1 to September 1, and the spring camp dates go from April 5 to 9. This summer camp is especially good for parents whose work schedule does not follow the school's break schedule.
Genesis Wholisitic Summer Enrichment Program is a vegetarian day care. The camp promotes education, healthy eating, exercise and environmental awareness with activities including African dance, tai chi, fine arts, fitness and weekly trips to the public library.

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Summer Camps offers five great camps accessible to the Atlanta metro area with options ranging from two-day to two-week stays, overnight and day camp options. The activities at the camps include horseback riding, canoeing, windsurfing, kayaking, archery, riflery, wall-climbing, adventure trips, crafts, hiking, indoor and outdoor cooking, dance, drama and more.
Peter Howell Tennis Camp is a coed tennis camp for ages 8 to 17. The camp offers a six-week day camp that includes morning and afternoon tennis sessions with focuses on fitness, instruction, drills and match play.

National Computer Camps has been in operation since 1978. The camp at Oglethorpe University offers 2D and 3D game design, Web design, video production and computer programming. Sports programs are optionally available. The camp is coed and has a maximum capacity for 75 people.
Emagination Computer Camp is located at Mercer University. Running from June to August, this camp offers an immersion experience in game design for teenagers with activities including 3D animation, Flash, Web design and robotics. The camp is coed and has a maximum capacity for 100 teens.
Imagine That and Future Tech Camps offer winter break and summer camps for ages 3 to 14. The camp offers academics, art, sports, adventure and other activities such as indoor inflatable jumping. Academics include activities that focus on general studies, animals, computers, culinary, robotics, science and space.
Other Educational Camps

The Children's School offers eight week-long sessions that run from June to July. The activities offered include art, music, multi-media and technology/science. Founded 40 years ago, the camp proves its success through its graduates, as 98 to 100 percent of TCS sixth graders are accepted into their first-choice middle school and go on to lead impressive academic careers at the high school and college level.
Chinese Shaolin Center Kung Fu Camp is a day camp that offers three summer camps. The camp offers training in kung fu and tai chi.
