PayScale reported that office managers in dental offices earned average salaries ranging between $35,171 and $50,528 per year as of January 2011.

Office managers working for one to four years reported average salaries between $30,301 and $43,555 yearly. Average wages jumped significantly at five to nine years as office managers averaged between $34,437 and $50,087. Dental office managers with 10 to more than 20 years of experience increased their average salaries to as high as $53,375.

    Location

    • Office managers earned varying salaries in different states, according to the BLS. For example, some professionals averaged annual wages as high as $67,170 in the District of Columbia and as low as $41,740 in New Mexico. Other states such as Connecticut fell in the middle of the BLS pay scale, with office managers earning an average salary of $53,960 per year. Georgia workers earned an average wage of $49,020 yearly. In New York, office managers earned as much as $56,420 per year.

    • Office managers working in dental offices received a variety of benefits, ranging from paid holidays and vacation days to tuition reimbursement for professional classes and training. Based on PayScale data, office managers who received time off for vacation and national holidays reported average salaries between $36,548 and $52,475 annually. In dental offices that provided free refreshments and drinks to employees, office managers reported average salaries that ranged from $35,665 to $49,726 yearly. Workers that received tuition reimbursement averaged salaries from $39,710 to $53,268. Dental office managers with the option to invest in a 401(k) plan fell within the $36,219 to $52,856 range.

    Gender

    • Although male office managers employed by dental offices received slightly higher salaries than their female counterparts, earners within the 25th percentile averaged salaries that were almost identical. For example, PayScale reported that female earners within the 25th percentile made an average salary of $35,360, while male earners within the same pay scale made an average salary of $35,702. However, whereas male earners in the 75th percentile averaged salaries as high as $54,835, female earners only averaged $50,943.
