An unincorporated area of Santa Fe County, New Mexico, La Cienega is located just outside the city limits of Santa Fe, the state capital and county seat. The area is named for a cienega, or a spring and surrounding marshy area. Here, it is the Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve, which is managed by the Santa Fe Botanical Garden. Visitors can choose from a variety of nearby hotels.

  1. Eldorado

    • Decorated in the New Mexico Pueblo Revival style, the Eldorado Hotel & Spa is near the historic Santa Fe Plaza, the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum and the art galleries on Canyon Road. Some rooms offer a private balcony and a wood-burning adobe kiva fireplace. The property's acclaimed Old House Restaurant features appetizers such as lump crab cakes, quail and scallops and entrees such as grilled steak and salmon, sea scallops and venison. The Eldorado Lounge offers a more relaxed atmosphere, cocktails and live bands Thursday through Saturday.

    Hotel Santa Fe

    • Santa Fe's only Native American-owned hotel, the Hotel Santa Fe is located in the heart of the Guadalupe Railyard District in the city's historic downtown area. Museums, art galleries, restaurants and specialty shops are within walking distance of the hotel. Special touches include performances by a traditional Southwestern flute player and regularly scheduled lectures on the heritage and history of New Mexico. The Amaya Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and features grilled seafood and meat including buffalo.

    Inn at Santa Fe

    • A boutique-style, full-service hotel, the Inn at Santa Fe is a short walk from the shopping of the Fashion Outlets of Santa Fe,which features brands such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Coach, Liz Claiborne and Jones New York. The hotel offers a complimentary full breakfast and a nightly manager's reception that includes complimentary appetizers and one glass of beer or wine for each guest. Other special amenities include a heated outdoor swimming pool and spa, a sauna and an outdoor fire pit.

    Courtyard by Marriott

    • Offering standard rooms, suites and executive suites with full kitchenettes, the Courtyard Santa Fe Hotel offers a full range of features including a heating indoor pool, a fitness room and a business center. The hotel was the lodging headquarters for the production crews of movies filmed in the area such as "3:10 to Yuma," "Cowboys & Aliens" and "Wild Hogs." The property's Castle Ranch Steakhouse features beef raised on Idaho grains along with fresh fish, poultry, soups and salads.
