Connecticut's location along the east coast of the United States provides many opportunities for seaside entertainment. Included among many shoreline activities in the state are its ocean side restaurants. Take in the fresh ocean air and enjoy the fresh local cuisine in this scenic stretch of coastline that includes towns like Greenwich, Norwalk, New Haven, New London and Mystic.

  1. Connecticut's Fairfield County

    • Located in Fairfield County, the coastal town of Greenwich provides a scenic backdrop for seaside dining. Along Greenwich's waterfront harbor is L'escale Restaurant. This establishment serves cuisine inspired by southern France in an upscale, fine dining environment. The oceanfront restaurant shares a 600 foot dock with the neighboring Delamar Hotel. In the same county is the coastal city of Norwalk. The restaurant Harbor Lights serves Mediterranean-style seafood dishes along Norwalk's Rowayton Point since it opened in 2001.

    Connecticut's New Haven County

    • The Sage American Grill and Oyster Bar is located in New Haven County along the seaside of the city of New Haven. Serving up dishes from local seafood to steaks and prime rib, this ocean side restaurant offers a Sunday brunch and hosts local wine events. The establishment also provides an outdoor deck and hosts live music most weeknights.

    Connecticut's Middlesex County

    • Located in Connecticut's Middlesex County is the town of Old Saybrook and the Old Saybrook Inn and Spa. This upscale hotel and day spa houses the restaurant Terra Mar. Fine dining, European inspired American cuisine and views of the Long Island Sound are offered by this well-reviewed establishment.

    Connecticut's New London County

    • In Connecticut's New London County is the seaside town of New London and the restaurant On the Waterfront. Serving up local seafood, as well as steak and poultry, this establishment offers elegant family dining with ocean harbor views. Also in New London County is the town of Mystic. Here the popular restaurant Sea Swirl offers outdoor seaside dining and serves house specialties like fried clams. The establishment also serves a variety of ice creams and has been featured on a popular Food Network program.
