The song goes:
Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack
All dressed in black, black, black
With silver buttons, buttons, buttons
All down her back, back, back.
She asked her mother, mother, mother
For fifty cents, cents, cents
To see the elephant, elephant, elephant
Jump over the fence, fence, fence.
He jumped so high, high, high
He reached the sky, sky, sky
And he never came back, back, back
'Till the end of July, 'ly, 'ly.
Actions:
On "Miss Mary Mack," clap your hands together, extend your right hand to clap with your partner's right hand, clap your hands together again, extend your left hand to clap with your partner's left hand and clap your hands together again. On "Mack, Mack," clap both of your hands with your partner's hands, clap your own hands together again and clap both of your hands with your partner's hands. A Sailor Went to Sea is another popular song many children have memorized. Furthermore, the accompanying hand game is fun and easy to pick up with a little practice.
The song goes:
A sailor went to sea, sea, sea
To see what he could see, see, see
But all that he could see, see, see
Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea.
Actions:
On "a," clap your own hands together. On "sai," cross your arms over your chest. On "lor," clap your hands together. On "went," clap your hands on your thighs. On "to," clap your hands together. Tarzan Jungle Man
-
Tarzan Jungle Man is an entertaining hand game because it involves a winner and a loser, which makes for a fun competition.
The song goes:
Tarzan, jungle man, swinging from a rubber band
Fell down, broke his crown
What color was his blood?
Actions:
On "Tar," clap your hands, and on "zan", clap your knees. One partner will start doing the opposite, clapping their knees on "Tar" and hands on "zan." Do this all the way until you reach the word "blood." Whichever partner has his hands on his knees on "blood" shouts out a color, and the word is spelled letter by letter, each letter being a beat. At the end of the game, the person whose hands are on his knees wins.
