Bar Beverage Checklist for a Wedding
The option of beverages to include in the bar at your wedding reception tends to be a opinionated subject among friends and family members of the bride and groom. Ultimately, the type of bar should be decided by the happy couple. When preparing to stock the bar for use on your big day, keep in mind all guests' tastes and preferences. A diverse bar includes a variety of non-alcoholic beverages and mixers, beer, wine, champagne and liquor.

Non-Alcoholic Beverages
-
Every wedding reception includes guests who are either under the legal drinking age or do not participate in alcohol consumption. Offer a variety of options for your guests who may not want to partake. A few of these non-alcoholic favorites include an assortment of regular and diet soft drinks; orange, grapefruit, pineapple and cranberry juices; and sparkling water and spring water.
Wine and Champagne
-
Wine is a popular wedding beverage and most reception bars include a few choices. Offering both sweet and dry wines will adequately cater to your wine-drinking guests. A choice of red and white wines complements various dinner choices if you are including a buffet or a served meal.
The best man's toast is the perfect opportunity for a champagne toast. Guests may continue to sip the sparkling beverage well into the night as well. Stock your wedding-reception beverage cart with the champagne of your choice.

Mixed Beverages
-
Mixed drinks are a popular alternative to traditional wine or beer. Non-alcoholic juices and soft drinks are combined with liquors such as vodka, vermouth, rum, tequila, gin, brandy and triple sec. As a desert beverage, many guests may prefer a shot glass of whiskey or kahlua in their coffee. Serving a mixed drink, many times, means including fresh produce such as lemons, cherries, oranges or mint as a beverage garnish. Mixers are available at your local liquor store, but don't forget the ice.
Beer
-
A selection of imported and domestic bottled beer is a staple for bartenders catering at weddings. The very popular alcoholic beverage is available in both regular and light varieties. For those on a strict spending plan, a beer keg is a budget-friendly option and will reduce waste. Dressing up a keg of beer is easy to do by wrapping the visible aluminum with a white table linen and allowing only the bartender to serve the beverage in a pilsner glass.
