    • The Oak Spring Winery in Altoona, Pennsylvania, offers a wine club called the Oak Spring Cap and Cork Club. This club is geared primarily toward those who make their own wine and beer in their homes. Located in an old fruit market, the Oak Spring Winery also offers a wide range of its own wines, wine-making and beer-brewing classes and a large tasting room.

    Pennsylvania Wine Society

    • The Pennsylvania Wine Society was founded in 1987 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, located east of Altoona. This society is by membership only and exists to teach about the wine-making process and help members learn how to select the proper wines to go with certain foods. Events take place all over Pennsylvania, featuring speakers to broaden the knowledge of members. As of 2011, membership costs $30 for one person and $50 for two people in the same household. A membership includes a monthly newsletter, reduced event fees, priority seating at the events and the ability to vote.

    Wine Club

    • The Wine Club offers members two bottles of wine each month delivered to their local Altoona liquor store. As of 2011, the cost is $25 to $35 per month for the Discovery level and $40 to $60 per month for the Aficionado level. The actual cost depends on the bottles selected for that month. Members can also pick between only red wines or a combination of red and white wines. The bottles are shipped to your choice of Pleasant Valley Shop Center, Chestnut Plaza or Valley View Shopping Center liquor stores. You will be contacted to pick up your shipment when it arrives each month.

    New York Times Wine Club

    • The New York Times Wine Club is one of the delivery wine clubs delivering to Altoona, Pennsylvania, through the Global Wine Company. Members can choose from two levels of membership. The Sampler membership costs $90 per month and the Reserve membership costs $180 per month for a six-bottle shipments, as of 2011. The Sampler level offers six bottles of wine per month, four bottles of red and two bottles of white, selected with everyday drinking in mind. The Reserve level offers four bottles of red wine and two bottles of white wine per month geared more for special occasions. Both levels offer information on each wine in each shipment, as well as recipe suggestions.
