To be eligible for PhD courses, students need to have completed a Bachelors and a Masters. Courses are offered at a variety of Universities including New York University and Oklahoma State University.

Lasting six months, this course is designed for people currently working in the industry and trains them for careers as safety managers, consultants, trainers or auditors. Students are selected on the basis of their academic qualifications and industry experience and apply by submitting a personal statement and detailing their motivations for attending the course, along with a letter of support from their employer.
