Gifts for the Deep-Sea Fisherman
When purchasing gifts for a deep-sea fisherman, try to avoid getting him things that he already has. Fisherman can be picky about their equipment and lures, so they might not actually use items given to them by people who are not familiar with the sport.

Framed Photo
-
Find a photo of the fisherman with one of his biggest catches and frame it for him as a keepsake. Choose a metal frame and have it engraved with the date of the catch and the weight of the fish. If you have a digital copy of the photo, consider having it enlarged and printed onto an artist-quality canvas for an especially memorable gift.
Video Game
-
If the deep-sea fisherman does not get to go on fishing trips as often as he would like to, a video game could tide him over between excursions. Choose a video game that works on his particular gaming system, or if he does not have a gaming system, get a computer-based game instead. The thrill of catching a fish is not quite the same with virtual fish as real ones, but it still makes for an enjoyable experience.

Chartered Boat Trip
-
Purchase a fisherman a ticket for a deep-sea fishing trip on a chartered boat. To make the trip more meaningful, get two tickets and go along with him to spend some quality time together enjoying an activity he loves. If the price tag is too high, get a gift certificate to be used for part of a trip or gather a few other people to chip in together to pay for a trip.
Waterproof Gear
-
Getting wet at sea seems like an inevitable element of deep-sea fishing, but a fisherman can remain mostly dry if he has high-quality gear. A waterproof hat, jacket, pants and shoes can combine to keep him dry during any surprise storms at sea. Another idea is to get a pair of waterproof binoculars so he can keep an eye out for fish even when it is raining.
