Craft Shows in the Pittsburgh Area
Various crafts shows take place in the Pittsburgh area annually. The shows provide a means by which vendors can sell their wares to interested customers. The events take place in malls or other locations which can accommodate large groups of people. Quilts and other items like jewelry and antiques are also available at fairs and flea markets in the Pittsburgh area.

Art, Craft and Lifestyle Show

This event first takes place at the Robinson Mall in January. Over 11 days in late January, vendors sell crafts and arts to interested buyers. The cost of participating depends on how long a vendor plans to be present at the event and how large a booth he uses. For 10-by-10-foot booths which will be occupied for the entire 11-day event the cost is $495 as of 2011. For a 5-by-10 booth to be used for 11 days, the cost is $425. The arts and craft shows also take place later at various time of the year including Mother's Day. Each year there is also a craft show to raise money for a local high school band program, the guard and percussion groups.
Deutschtown Flea Market

Deutschtown is another name for the East Allegheny Community in Pittsburgh. This national historical district has a flea market. Jewelry, antiques and other items are available here. Vendors bring their own table and for $10 can sell items at their booth. The Flea Market takes place on Saturdays from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m., May through October in East Commons Park.

Quilt Show

The Three Rivers Quilt Show takes place in last March and early April. This event showcases the quilts made by the members of Three Rivers Quilters. It also is a means for viewers to buy items at Grannie's Attic, learn about quilting, watch demonstrations and visit quilt-related vendors.
Intergalactic Bead and Jewelry Show

In February, the Intergalactic Bead and Jewelry Show takes place at the Circuit Center. Beads and jewelry are available for retail and wholesale purchase. The types of beads to be displayed include Swarovski crystal, glass beads, seed beads, freshwater pearls and precious gemstones.
