Add these items to a shadow box display.

Given that weddings produce multiple pictures filled with memories, displaying them can pose a challenge. Not only do you want to showcase special photographs, such as the first official kiss or the first slice of cake, you also want to highlight dozens of other pictures, like the rings, the walk down the aisle or the father-daughter dance. Other decisions involve the type of material for the frame, the number of slots for the photographs, which pictures should be hung and which pictures should be inserted into the photo album.

  1. Engraved

    • A large crystal or metal frame lends a touch of elegance to a singular wedding picture, such as the bride and groom with the priest. These formal types of frames contain clean lines and a reflective surface to display an engraved message. Engrave the couple's name to the front of the frame and have the date of the wedding added underneath.

    Mat

    • Decorate the mat inside the picture frame for a creative design. The mat is the thin, flat piece of material that slips between the glass and the photograph and keeps the two separate to prevent damage to the picture. It also acts like an additional frame for the photo. Glue sentimental materials from the wedding to cover the mat, such as the invitation, a copy of the page from the wedding sign-in book or the couple's first signature as husband and wife.

    Photo Essay

    • Create a photo essay of the event by choosing a frame with a mat that allows multiple pictures within one large frame. Place the picture of the kiss or the wedding rings in the middle slot and surround it with scenes of the chapel, pictures of the bridal bouquet and photos of the bride and groom slicing the cake. This type of frame allows multiple memories to be seen at one time.

    Shadow Box Frame

    • A shadow box frame is a small display case with a glass front. The advantage of a shadow box comes from the ability to add other items around the picture. Center the wedding picture in the frame and surround it with a dried flower from the bouquet, ribbons from the gown or a small piece of the wedding veil. The topper of the cake or the front of the invitation adds more memories to the display.
