The club scene in Cleveland, Ohio, features a variety of styles and locations to satisfy many different tastes. Whether you are looking for a club to strut your stuff on the dance floor, or one to kick back and listen to some live music, you should be able to find something to please.

  1. Warehouse District

    • If you're looking for the classic nightclub with flashing lights, fancy drinks and well-dressed people, the Warehouse District is your ticket. The clubs in this area include The Velvet Dog, featuring specialty martinis, a rooftop patio and a separate lounge when you need a break from dancing. Just blocks away is Anatomy, also possessing outdoor patios, accommodations for private parties, and what they call a "civilized" nightclub experience.

    Jazz and Blues

    • If your idea of a nightclub involves a darkly lit, smoky bar where you can hide at a corner table, you'll still find it in Cleveland--minus the smoke--the state's 2006 smoking ban took care of that. Several places in town offer live jazz and blues, including the Cleveland Bop Stop, featuring live jazz performances, and the Parkview Night Club, presenting live blues and blues jams several days a week.

    Gentlemen's Clubs

    • Downtown Cleveland, like most cities, is also home to a number of gentlemen's clubs, some of which call themselves nightclubs. While they may not be the place to take your spouse, they are a vibrant part of Cleveland night life. Some of the more popular establishments include Christie's Cabaret and Diamond Men's Club. The clubs typically offer reduced entry fees or other special deals to people who attended sports games that same day and have ticket stubs.

    Goth

    • The Phantasy Nite Club is located on the city's West Side and features live masquerade balls, DJs and bands. Its partner club, The Chamber, is focused on the Goth/Industrial subculture of the Cleveland area. The combination of another club on site featuring live music, The Phantasy Theater, makes for a happening venue.
