Haunted Houses in Northern Indiana
Several spots in the Midwestern state of Indiana report hauntings and strange occurrences, with many of them located in the northern part of the state. Some of the places are private and do not welcome visitors, while others provide guided tours of the facilities. The one thing all have in common is a reputation for otherworldly presences roaming about.

Fort Wayne has many haunted hot spots. The Walmart on Cold Water Road has a ghost that allegedly plays bagpipes to workers and shoppers in the early morning hours. He even makes an appearance on occasion. There is a haunted hollow on Cedar Canyon Road where a headless ghost rides about on his motorcycle. Crossroads Cemetery has a variety of strange noises and lights reported by people who go past the cemetery grounds at night. The neighborhood of Lakeside, which is on top of a sacred burial ground, is another haunted destinations. Residents report odd sounds and other occurrences in their homes.
Hammond

Hammond is another Northern Indiana town that is rampant with haunted activity. Bishop Noll Institute has strange happenings with unexplained footsteps and a ghost girl heading up the list. People commonly see two women wandering about at the Old Botanical Gardens when setting up for Reaper's Realm, a haunted attraction, each year. The graves at Thomas Road Cemetery have blood dripping from them, and the ground is steadily soft, even when the weather is dry.

The northern city of South Bend is home to Notre Dame University, which is haunted by a famous ghost named George Gipp, a football player who died of pneumonia and roams the grounds quite frequently. In addition to the many sightings of the ghost, there are also strange sounds and odd happenings that occur. And some claim the ghost of a flight attendant roams the halls of the Holiday Inn City Center.
Kendallville

Kendallville is home to several hauntings. East Noble High School has a ghost girl that turns televisions to MTV, and a male ghost apparently likes to watch ballgames in the gym. Some residents say that the Church on Riley Street is haunted by dark figures that move furniture and throw things around. The Strand Movie Theater allegedly has ghostly children wandering around the hallways at all hours of the day and night.
