Your students will enjoy Valentine's party activities.

Children look forward to holiday parties at school each year. When planning a Valentine's Day party for your class, be sure to plan activities that will keep the little ones entertained. From a chocolate mouse craft to decorating cookies, use your imagination to create activities the children will remember for years to come. A trip to your local retail and grocery store is all you need to get started planning Valentine's Day activities for your students.

  1. Chocolate Valentine Mouse

    • Help your students make a chocolate mouse for Valentine's Day using chocolate kisses, craft foam, googly eyes, miniature black pompoms, pieces of black string and yarn. Cut the craft foam in the shape of a heart. Have the students glue the flat ends of two chocolate kisses together with the heart-shaped foam in the middle. The round ends of the heart should be facing up and the kisses on their side. Glue the pompom on one of the pointy ends of the chocolate kiss for the nose and glue the googly eyes right above that. Use the pieces of black string to make the whiskers and a piece of yarn on the other pointy end to make the tail.

    Cherry Floats

    • Create cherry floats at the party using vanilla ice cream, cherry-flavored lemon-lime soda, whipped cream and cherries. Place a scoop of ice cream in each student's cup along with the cherry soda. Each student can add whipped cream and cherries to her cherry float.

    Heart Bingo

    • Make heart-shaped bingo cards and use words, such as "Valentine's," "Be Mine," "February," "candy," "hugs" and "kisses" in the bingo squares. Give each student a bingo card and a small cup of red hot cinnamon candies or small chocolate pieces that will fit on the bingo squares. Place all the words on small pieces of paper in a bowl and call out the words one at a time. The first person with a bingo must yell, "Happy Valentine's Day," to earn a prize.

    Cookies

    • Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to make several heart cookies or purchase them from your local grocery store. Create different stations where the children can walk around decorating their cookie at each station. At one station, have a few types of icing, and the children can spread icing on their cookies. Other stations can have items like sprinkles, whipped cream, syrup and small candies. Tell the students to use their imagination to create the perfect Valentine's Day cookie.
