The Samsung 50" DLP is a rear-projection HDTV.

The Samsung 50" DLP (digital light processing) is a high-definition flat-screen television. The DLP display technology is manufactured by Texas Instruments and powers the HD aspects of this television model. There are several models of the 50" Samsung DLP, including the HL-S5086W, HL-S5087W and HL-S5088W. When hooked up to a computer, this television can also be used as a PC monitor.

Video Specifications

The Samsung 50" DLP video specifications consist of a pixel count of 1280 horizontal by 720 vertical. The display device is a single digital micro mirror device, and the color wheel is 55 millimeters and five segments. The resolution is 720p with a contrast ratio of 2500:1. Channel coverage includes VHF 2 to 13, UHF 14 to 69, ATSC 1 to 69 and CATV 1 to 125.

Audio Specifications

Audio specifications for the Samsung 50" DLP include a 10W x 2 output power, two speakers, five sound modes and an MTS stereo. The sound is SRS TruSurround XT.

Connection Specifications

The Samsung 50" DLP features analog video connections such as one rear RF in and two rear and one side AV in. There are two rear S-video inputs and one rear monitor and sound out. There is one side USB port for connecting to a computer, as well as one rear PC input and one rear PC audio input. HDMI connections include two rear for both digital audio and video.
