Podiatrist Salary Range
Podiatrists are doctors who specialize in treating the patients' feet. Corns, bunions and heal spurs are just a few of the conditions that podiatrists treat. Podiatry students must complete a minimum of 90 hours undergraduate work and have acceptable scores on the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test). Podiatry schools require four years to finish and graduates have to complete a residency program that requires two to four years before they can take their licensing exam.

Podiatrists in Maryland had a mean hourly wage of $67.64 and a mean annual wage of $140,700. The top paying state was Michigan, where podiatrists had a mean hourly wage of $83.53 and a mean annual wage of $173.730, followed by Texas at $79.91 hourly and an annual mean wage of $166,220. Podiatrists in Wisconsin had a mean hourly wage of $79.80 and a mean annual wage of $165,990.

In order of the highest paying metropolitan area, podiatrists in the Sacramento-Arden-Arcade-Roseville area of California had a mean hourly wage of $97.11 and a mean annual wage of $202,000. In the Warren-Troy-Farmington Hills area of Michigan, they had a mean hourly wage of $96.67 and a mean annual wage of $201,070. In the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Boynton Beach, Florida, area podiatrists had a mean hourly wage of $94 and an annual mean wage of $195,520.
