Citra FX Photo Effects
Citrix FX is a powerful stand-alone photo editing program that allows you to edit your images in unique ways. Using the software, you can access a large set of pre-loaded modifications like a water ripple effect, blur, and color adjustment. By adjusting the parameters of these effects, you can craft the exact image that you desire.

How is Citra different from my current image editor?
-
Citra FX comes with many different photo effects, which can be applied under the "Filters" menu to any JPEG file you have saved on your hard drive. Citra FX is not a full-featured image editor, however, so it's not capable of the things that you would find in programs like Photoshop, Aperture or GIMP. Rather, it is a program that allows you to edit photos artistically with various effects, and is not intended to be a general purpose image editor.
Why use Citra?
-
Though your current image editing program likely already contains the same style of filters that Citra employs, there are several reasons to use Citra FX instead of your general image editor for these filters. Because Citra is dedicated to creating filters, it works much faster and more powerfully. This means you don't have to twiddle your thumbs while you wait for the preview to load; it loads right away. Citra also contains a wider variety of filters, even more than Photoshop. Finally, the filters that Citra FX applies are much cleaner that your all-purpose editor, meaning that the photo is less degraded after they are applied and looks sharper as a result.

What problems does Citra FX have?
-
The chief issue with Citra FX is that it can only apply one filter. To apply more, you need to save the file and reopen it in the software with the current filter embedded in the image. Additionally, Citra's simplicity, which is a blessing on most occasions, can be limiting to users with a higher skill level or greater ambitions, as you cannot use layers, brushes, spot editing tools or complex exposure adjustment filters. Citra FX is the sort of program that does one thing very well, and eschews other functions in favor of its single ability.
How do I use Citra FX?
-
Open the program by double-clicking on the application logo. To open an image, go to "File>Open..." or click on the icon with the blue folder and hovering yellow square, which is fourth from the left in the icon bar. Then, click the "Filters" menu in the menu bar above the icon bar. Select the filter you want to apply, and then adjust the sliders to edit the filter parameters. When you're done, choose "File>Save." This simplicity is one of the main attractions of Citra FX, and you might find it addictive.
