Crafts to Make With Flat Round Glass Stones

Flat, round glass stones can be used for many craft projects.

.Round glass stones can be found at almost any craft and hobby store, and they come in a variety of colors and sizes. They are, for the most part, inexpensive and easy to craft with. Many creative projects can be done with glass stones that can be given as gifts, sold at craft booths, or used to decorate the home.

Paperweights

Paperweights can easily be fashioned from a large glass stone that features a flat base. Family photographs, vintage pictures or any other picture can be glued to the base so that the picture is visible through the glass. Felt can be glued under the picture to protect surfaces and cushion the glass. Magnets can be created from smaller glass stones in the same manner simply by gluing a magnet to the back.

Mosaic Flower Pots and Tabletops

Designs can be created from smaller, multicolored glass stones for flowerpot and tabletop decorations. Use a tile knife to cover the tabletop or flowerpot in a nontoxic latex tile grout. Arrange the stones to create the picture or pattern desired.

Candle Embellishments

Small, round glass stones can be glued to the sides of large pillar candles with a glue gun. The glass stones can also be poured into a glass dish with a pillar candle in the center for a lovely centerpiece.

Stepping Stones

You can create a family keepsake with a stepping-stone kit and glass stones. As you follow the steps in the kit, press your child's handprint in the center of the stone. Place glass stones around the edge to create a border.

Pendant Necklace

A lovely pendant necklace can be fashioned by gluing a round, glass stone with a flat base to a necklace bail that is the appropriate size. The pendant can be hung from a chain or a ribbon.
