Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia is a picturesque village.

Sidi Bou Said in located in the North African country of Tunisia, about 12 miles (20 kilometers) north of the capital Tunis. This small town is named after the Muslim Saint Abou Saïd Khalafa ben Yahia. Located on the cliffs overlooking the Bay of Tunis, it is known for its artisan influence, architecture and restored ancient white and blue painted palaces. For visitors to this area, accommodation can be found in local bed and breakfasts. Larger, more luxurious hotels can also be found within 10 minutes of the town.

  1. Dar Said

    • Dar Said is located 15 minutes from Tunis-Carthage International Airport and 20 minutes from downtown Tunis. This hotel used to be a middle class dwelling dating back to the middle of the 19th century and has recently been restored. Dar Said offers 24 uniquely styled rooms, each one including original Turkish style bathrooms. Each room is fitted with satellite television, direct phone lines, air conditioning and a safe. Wi-Fi is available, and guests can relax in the hotel's pool overlooking the Gulf of Tunis. Room service is also available, 24 hours a day.

    Dar Fatma

    • This hotel is a genuine Arab residence and offers its guests a space conducive to rest and change of scenery. All the rooms are dressed in white to help provide a calm, intimate and quite setting. Every room is has air conditioning, Internet access, satellite television and a bathroom. Dar Fatma is located about 10 minutes from the Tunis-Carthage International Airport and 15 minutes from Tunis. The high season for this hotel is from April 1 to Nov. 14 and from Dec. 20 to Jan. 3.

    Bou Fares

    • Bou Fares is a small bed and breakfast consisting of 10 rooms, each with air conditioner, a heating system, a bathroom, a shower, and toilet. This hotel also offers the Moorish Cafe if you want to sit in the garden and have a cup of tea. Guests can also arrange excursions to Tunis and a car rental, if needed. The rooms range from one to three beds. All rates for the rooms include breakfast and as of Dec. 1, 2010 to end February, 2011 the rate for a single room is $48, a double is $74, and a triple is $96.

    Barceló Carthage Thalasso

    • If luxury and grandeur are what you are looking for then this five-star hotel has everything to suit your needs. It is located 10 minutes away in the town of La Marsa. It is conventionally only 20 minutes from the Tunis Carthage International Airport and 30 minutes from the center of Tunis. This hotel offers a salt water swimming pool, tennis courts and four restaurants, four bars and a Moorish café. The rooms vary, depending on your needs. Apartment style rooms have a terrace and come equipped with a small kitchen, a lounge, a fully equipped bathroom, a telephone, wireless Internet access and satellite television. There are also double family rooms, double guest rooms, junior suites and presidential suites available. The hotel also offers direct beach access to guests.
