Sidi Bou Said in located in the North African country of Tunisia, about 12 miles (20 kilometers) north of the capital Tunis. This small town is named after the Muslim Saint Abou Saïd Khalafa ben Yahia. Located on the cliffs overlooking the Bay of Tunis, it is known for its artisan influence, architecture and restored ancient white and blue painted palaces.
