Marketing Strategy Methods
A poor marketing strategy can cost you a great deal of money. You must know, understand and utilize multiple effective marketing methods to sell your good or service. Once in practice, isolate the methods that do not work. Armed with a knowledge of what works and what does not, you will be able to implement the best possible marketing strategy for your business.

Benefits, Not Features
-
Customers are not as interested in what your product can do as much as what it can do for them. An ineffective marketing campaign focuses on features. Don't say that studies have shown your supplement's thermogenic formula causes a 25 percent increase in metabolic function. Say that your supplement increases weight loss by 25 percent. A consumer struggling with weight sees this and recognizes the benefit to his situation; quicker weight loss with less effort. Seeing the benefit will push him toward a purchase better than technical jargon.
Niche Marketing
-
Competition is stiff. One effective marketing strategy is to pick a niche. A niche is a specialized area of a larger market. Dating websites are a dime a dozen. A dating market targeted at sports enthusiasts on the other hand, is a niche. This serves a two-fold purpose. First, with a target audience identified, you will tailor your campaign specifically to it. Second, you have a leg up on your competition with your niche audience.

Innovations
-
People become jaded easily with products and services. They've seen it, paid for it and have more than likely been dissatisfied by it. This is why it is important to keep things fresh. You must either create something people haven't seen (a car with an auto-drive feature) or come up with a new twist on an old idea (a mug that keeps your coffee hot without burning your hand). Once you've done that, you must sell the public on why your product isn't simply a rehash of what they've seen before. Show them what benefit your version can provide that the others could not.
Relationships / Word of Mouth
-
The best marketing strategy is one that develops before you design your campaign. The most effective way to sell a product or service is to create a product or service of the highest quality. All the tricks, traps and innovations in the world won't mean a thing if your product isn't any good. Once it's perfected, take the time to build quality relationships with your customers. Treat them like gold. If they have an issue, do your best to address it. Essentially, do everything in your power to ensure that they have a positive experience. Once you've established a reputation as someone who puts out a quality product and is easy to do business with, you'll have already initiated the best marketing strategy of all.
