Nongovernment Grants
A "grant" is a free money donation to an entity for the purpose of funding a specific project or regular operations. Unlike loans and other forms of debt financing, recipients need not repay grants. Although many people associate grant funding with the federal government and state agencies, many private individuals, corporations and foundations give grant money to worthy businesses, schools and charitable organizations.
