Low-Stress Careers
With the exception of those who are independently wealthy and those who have the good fortune to be supported by someone else, everyone needs to make a living. People who have difficulty coping with stress need to find a way to do this in a peaceful and low-intensity environment in which they are able to function and thrive.

Home Inspector
-
Home inspectors are hired by individuals to do a technical inspection of a home prior to its purchase. A home inspector looks at the foundation, roof, plumbing, electrical system, surrounding property, windows and general condition of the house. The inspector creates a report on the property and makes a recommendation about whether he thinks it would be a good purchase, and -- if he is an appraiser as well -- what he thinks a fair price would be. A full home inspection usually takes around three hours, and most home inspectors charge $200 or $300. Therefore, the pay per hour is very good, but home inspectors rarely work for eight hours a day.
Massage Therapist
-
Most people go to a massage therapist to release tense muscles and relax. Therefore, the occupation of massage therapist is somewhat more than low stress; low stress is its very reason for existence. A massage is more relaxing for the client than the massage therapist; giving a therapeutic massage takes a lot of work, and requires a lot of previous training. Being a massage therapist is a much lower stress career than most; massage therapists are generally treated well by their appreciative clients, and they can generally work flexible hours.

Blogger
-
If you have an established blog that brings in income through associated advertising, you can potentially make some money on it. If you are one of the few who has developed a widely read blog with a substantial following, you can actually make a living off of it. You can do this job sitting at home in your bathrobe if you want to, which pretty categorically qualifies it as low stress. If the subject of your blog is controversial, you may receive some angry comments in reply to what you have written, but this is fairly easy to get over when you're making a living while drinking coffee on the couch.
Food Cart Vendor
-
Some people make a living by converting a van or bread truck into a mobile kitchen and selling food to people on the street. If you control a prime spot such as a place at the middle of a university campus, you can make a very good living doing this. If you make good food and develop a loyal clientele who shows up at your truck every day, it can be a very low stress way to support yourself. If you like cooking and chatting with different people, it can even be quite enjoyable.
