1993 Cadillac Repair Information
There are several 1993 Cadillac models that have been issued recalls and repair information. These Cadillac models included the Allante, the Deville, the Eldorado, the Fleetwood, and the Seville. Just like most manufacturers, Cadillac issued recalls and repaired them to ensure that their consumers are safe while traveling in their vehicles.
-
Allante
-
A recall was issued relating to the Allante's clutch assembly, affecting 56,269 cars. The clutch assembly was able to come in contact with an oil hose that led to the hose's breakage. This problem could lead to an engine fire since the oil leak directly flowed out to the engine compartment. This problem was repaired when dealers installed a strap that secured the oil hose and avoided contact with the clutch assembly.
Deville
-
The 1993 Deville was another vehicle that had an issue with one of its oil hoses. The vehicle's oil cooler hose on its upper transaxle had a tendency to disengage. This problem could have resulted in engine fire. A new hose for the upper transaxle oil cooler was installed to correct this problem.
-
Fleetwood
-
Just like the Deville, the 1993 Fleetwood had issues with its transaxle oil hose. Aside from that problem, its passenger side airbags were unreliable. The inflator ignition function of the side airbags had a delayed response, resulting in more injuries in cases of vehicle crashes. This problem was repaired by removing the old passenger side airbags and replacing them.
Eldorado and Seville
-
Two recalls were made for the 1993 Eldorado and Seville. The first recall was the same clutch assembly problem with the Allante, while the second recall was about its fuel injection system. About 10,146 Eldorados and Sevilles were released with their fuel injection systems loose and unlocked. This problem could cause fuel leakage that would have ended up to an engine fire. Vehicles found to have this problem are repaired by either adjusting the fuel injection system, or replacing the whole part.
