Journalists must meet deadlines.

Journalists, or reporters, track down leads, interview people and discover news, says the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. They write the stories and prepare them for print at the office, and many reporters prepare copy for the Internet version of the magazine or newspaper they work for. Fashion reporters concentrate their focus on the fashion industry. Their annual income is sometimes increased by bonuses, commission and profit-sharing.

    • Reporters have hectic work schedules, says the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. They are faced with strict deadlines and often work weekends and nights. For example, a fashion journalist has to adjust her schedule to attend designers' shows, many of which are at night. Their offices may be comfortable and quiet, or they may be full of other reporters, news analysts and correspondents.

    Job Outlook

However, competition for the job is expected to be "keen," as the profession is considered desirable.
