Yearly bonuses for web programmers start at $507 and can go as high as $3,039, and yearly profit sharing benefits range from $512 to $3,052. Median hourly pay for web programmers range between $15.96 for web designers to $20.68 per hour for web developers who work with PHP. Web programmers on average earn $19.74 an hour.

For example, a web programmer who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science can earn an average salary of $35,000 to $47,000. However, a web programmer with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science can receive an average salary range of $40,700 to $57,150 per year, according to PayScale.

    • As of 2010, web programmers who specialize in Flash applications earn an average salary of $50,000 a year, while database programmers earn on average $64,000 a year, according to Indeed. Web developers who are senior software engineers earn an average of $90,000 while web designer salaries average $38,623 a year as of 2010, according to PayScale.

For example, a programmer with four years of experience can earn an average hourly rate of $16.41 and a yearly salary of close to $43,000. A web programmer with 10 to 19 years of work experience can earn an average salary of nearly $74,000 a year and an hourly wage of $38.46, while those with over 20 years of experience earn $47.50 an hour and nearly $83,000 a year, according to PayScale.
