Agriculture Education Grants
Agriscience and agribusiness are constantly evolving, and have raised new public interest in issues such as monocropping, genetically engineered crops, nutrition and corporate agriculture versus sustainable, local and organic agricultural enterprises. Grants that support individuals to educate or be educated in the many fields of agriculture are available through national, regional and private organizations.

Agriscience, Agribusiness, and Ag-Ed in the K-12 Classroom Program
-
This challenge grant program has two goals. Its first goal is to promote and strengthen secondary and two-year postsecondary education in agriscience and agribusiness. This is to help ensure that the U.S. has a qualified workforce to serve the food and agricultural sciences system. The second goal of the program is to promote linkages of these higher learning programs with K-12 programs in order to encourage more American children to pursue and complete a baccalaureate or higher degree in the food and agricultural sciences. Grants awarded range between $25,000 and $300,000. For more information contact Gregory Smith at the United States Department of Agriculture and reference funding opportunity number USDA-NIFA-SAECP-003355.
International Science and Education Competitive Grants Program

Awards of up to $150,000 are granted to institutions whose education programs include international lesson-sharing, foreign technology, international research partnerships, faculty exchange or international curricula content. For more information and to determine possible eligibility, contact Patricia Fulton at the United States Department of Agriculture before January 19, 2011, and reference funding opportunity number USDA-NIFA-CIP-003379.
