Ways or Ideas to Budget & Trim
It's easy to spend money mindlessly because everything seems to have a price. However, when you're mindful of finding ways to do the things you enjoy without spending as much money, you'll find that less money is flowing out of your account. Trimming back on expenses doesn't have to be a pain if you're still getting everything you want. By getting creative, you'll find fulfillment in seeing your bank accounts grow while continuing to take part in your hobbies and enjoying the same things you always have--at a fraction of the cost.

Borrow
-
The beauty of borrowing things like books, DVDs and tools instead of buying them is that you keep your house clutter free and you cut back on costs. Dust off your library card, join an online DVD rental service (or rent from a local source) and check out the tool rental section at your local hardware store. You'll find that many other places rent pricey equipment as well, from sporting goods to media equipment.
Swap
-
Your trash may be another's treasure, so consider holding a swap party for everything from clothing to home appliances. "Naked lady parties" are particularly popular for women who love to shop but also want to watch their budgets--consider it going shopping in a fashionable friend's closet. Alternatively, online community swap bulletin boards allow members to list items they no longer want and request items they need.

Cook at Home
-
One of the biggest expenditures for many households is eating out, so when you buy groceries and cook at home, the savings are huge. Buy fresh products rather than ready made, processed foods, and you'll see a noticeable decrease in your grocery bill. Scan your refrigerator each day to use foods before they go to waste. When you eat in more often, your wallet gets fatter, and your waistline will probably get smaller.
Use Public Transport
-
Is there a different way to get to work each day? Lower your gas costs (and parking costs, if you have any) by opting for public transportation when possible. Not only is public transportation better on your budget, but it's a greener option as well. If you live in a walkable city or one with excellent public transportation, you may be able to give up your vehicle all together. Think about the relief you'll have after giving up your car and insurance payments.
