Survey Ideas
If you want to find out what your customers or the people who are a part of your organization are thinking, conduct a survey. Surveys can be distributed online, done over the phone or in the form of an in-person interview. Survey results can help entrepreneurs build their businesses and make important decisions on which products to launch, how to better target consumers and if they need to make improvements to their products or services.
-
Customer Service
-
As a business owner, it's important to constantly gauge whether you and your staff are providing your customers with exceptional customer service. By surveying customers you can get insight on their experiences with visiting your brick-and-mortar location, visiting your website, calling your customer service center or requesting services from your business. You might ask them whether your sales team was helpful during their visit, does your staff seem friendly, were they able to easily place orders, do they think your return policy is fair and even questions on the navigating of your store or website.
Product Usage
-
Find out how customers are using your products or services by surveying them on usage. You ask them how often they purchase your product or service, if they'd purchase more if the price were lower and even how they use your product or services in their lives. You might also ask them whether using your product has improved their lives somehow.
-
Media Consumption
-
Find out what types of media your customers are consuming. Craft a survey that asks them to list the magazines they subscribe to and read, which radio stations, online and offline, they listen to, how they stay current on news, their favorite television shows and the websites they frequent for news and entertainment.
Demographics
-
If you're trying to gain further details about the types of people who use the products or services your business provides, you may elect to distribute a survey that collects demographic information. You may ask questions such as age, income, marital status, level of education, geographic location or gender. This data can help you build your target market profile and aid you in how you shape future marketing efforts and new product developments.
Employee Satisfaction
-
Getting feedback from consumers is high on any entrepreneurs list, but it's also equally important to get feedback from staff. Survey your staff to find out the elements of their jobs they enjoy, and the ones that they struggle with. You can ask them questions about the company's sales process, how they feel about salaries and bonuses, how they would improve the work environment and which aspects bring them the most satisfaction. Surveying employees and responding to their needs can help retain them and combat employee turnover.
