Engine and Powertrain

The 1997 Ford F-350 comes with three engine options. The first is a 5.8-liter, V-8 with 210 horsepower at 3,600 rpm. It achieves maximum torque of 310 foot-pounds at 2,800 rpm. Trims

The 1997 Ford F-350, two and four-wheel drive, is available in three styles, the regular cab, super-cab and the crew cab. The available trims are XL and XLT in 11 color choices. A dual rear wheelbase is optional on all trim styles. The XL is a base version with standard equipment, including heater, cloth seats and manual transmission. Upgrade packages are available. The XLT comes standard with power windows and locks, leather steering wheel, carpeted flooring, and AM/FM stereo with channel seek. Available options include air conditioning, cruise control, tilt wheel, premium stereo with CD and four speakers.

The four-wheel drive crew-cab XLT with a single wheelbase and a 5.8-liter engine has a payload of 3,565 lbs., a towing capacity of 7,101 lbs. and a curb weight of 5,658 lbs. The dual-wheel base extended cab, two-wheel drive XLT, with the 7.3-liter engine has a payload of 4,656 lbs., a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs. and a curb weight of 5,343 lbs.

The overall length of the single cab model is 213.3 inches, width 79 inches, height 69.8 inches and wheelbase 133 inches. The extended cab has a length of 235.3 inches, width 95.4 inches, height 69.8 inches and a wheelbase of 155 inches. The crew-cab model has a length of 248.7 inches, width 79 inches, height 69.8 inches and a wheelbase of 168 inches. The dual wheelbase has a body width of 95.4 inches.
