Things to Do With Kids in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina
Nicknamed the Seafood Capital of South Carolina, Murrells Inlet is a vacation village 10 miles south of Myrtle Beach. It is full of natural beauty and outdoor adventure with many activities for kids. Legendary pirates such as Blackbeard and Captain Murrell are a part of the history of Murrells Inlet.

Huntington Beach State Park (southcarolinaparks.com/huntingtonbeach) has activities for kids of all ages. It has miles of beach along the ocean, a freshwater lake known for alligator sightings, a nature center with a variety of programs, wildlife that includes loggerhead turtles, hiking, camping, fishing and kayaking tours. Wachesaw EQ Center (wachesaweq.com) has horseback riding lessons for all skill levels and will lease out horses for trail rides. Summer camps are featured for children and their families for as young as 4 years of age.

Brookgreen Gardens (brookgreen.org) has an array of activities centered on gardens and animals. It has a zoo dedicated to housing native animals, including white-tailed deer, red foxes, hawks, wild turkeys and gray foxes. Many programs are designed for families, including an enchanted storybook playhouse, a children's interactive play room, a garden room for children and a butterfly house. Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk (marshwalk.com) is a walking pier along the saltwater estuary. You can see wildlife while dining at one of the many seafood restaurants along the walk.

For an indoor activities, Revolutions Entertainment (revolutionsentertainment.com) is a place for kids. It has bowling and 25 arcade and prize games. A snack bar and billiard tables complete the venue. Express Watersports (expresswatersports.com) has activities such as parasailing, kayaking, paddle boats and scuba diving. Banana boat rides take you through Murrells Inlet and out to sea.

The Wacca Wache Marina (waccawachemarina.com) has a 60-foot pontoon boat available for guided tours along the Plantation River. You and the kids can hear about the history of the area and see sights that include old rice plantations, slave cabins, alligators, trunk gates, osprey and eagles. Sea Batical Sportfishing (seabaticalcharters.com) will take you on a fishing trip for the day, trolling for marlin, tuna and other types of fish.
