Cold-Weather Scarves
-
Actress Eva Longoria chose a chunky knit scarf to wear with a long leather jacket. A chunky cable-knit scarf gives your leather jacket a rustic feel and keeps you warm and cozy in the coldest weather conditions. Wear the bulk of this scarf outside the jacket. Wrap as many times as needed so there is only a little material left to tuck into the jacket or tie. The longer the scarf, the bigger the style statement you are making. A wide wool-cashmere blend scarf is another warm, as well as beautiful, compliment to the rugged style of a leather jacket.
Warm-Weather Scarves

You don’t need to put your leather jacket away just because the sun is out and temperatures are rising -- just change the way you wear it. A lightweight infinity scarf is a sweet accessory for spring and summer, and they are available in bright, beautiful colors and prints. An infinity scarf has no ends to tuck in, so this style looks great with an open jacket and cotton tee. A linen scarf is the most whimsical style to try with your leather jacket. It adds a very feminine element to an otherwise masculine piece.

Ways to Wrap
-
Actress Lena Headey shows a playful way to wrap a lightweight scarf over a leather jacket. The way you wrap your scarf is just important as the type of scarf you choose to wear with your leather jacket. Wrap cable knits and wide wool scarves so that the majority of the material is outside the jacket. Wrap the scarf as many times as needed so there is only a little material left to tuck into the jacket. You can create several playful styles with lighter fabrics such as linen. If you're wearing a lightweight scarf that has fringe or tassels, keep the fabric open to show off the detailing. Don't twist it up too much and hide all of the personality of the scarf. Thinner scarves are also great for wrapping once around the neck, creating two equal tails that you can twist like a braid or tie in multiple knots. An infinity scarf can be looped into two equally sized circles, or make one small loop around your neck and one lower-hanging one.
Color Combinations
-
Black or brown leather jackets are quintessential fashion staples -- so feel free to play with scarf colors and textures. Be sure to keep within the season's color palette. In autumn months, stick with neutrals and fall colors such as burnt orange, mustard yellow, hunter green, or eggplant, and avoid pastels. Stay away from those deeper tones during the bright-color seasons like spring, and use that time as an opportunity to don your poppy reds and tangerine accessories. Indeed, leather jackets may be a bit rebellious, but that's no excuse for being caught on the wrong side of the color wheel.
