Things to Do in Sevierville, TN With Kids
The popular and picturesque vacation city of Sevierville, Tennessee is located at the base of the Great Smokey Mountains. Covering 20 square miles and with a population of about 15,000, according to the 2011 U.S. Census estimate, Sevierville provides numerous activities appropriate for kids of all ages. Knoxville is a short 30-minute drive away if you're looking for a day trip, but there's plenty to keep the family busy right in Sevierville.

Nascar Speedpark (nascarspeedpark.com) is a fantastic game center featuring bumper boats, go-kart tracks, tot rides, kiddie race track, mini golf, roller coasters, a race-car themed soft playground, racing video games and a tilt-a-whirl. The race tracks vary in size and skill level accommodating kids as small as 40 inches in height. Adventure Park at Five Oaks (adventureparkatfiveoaks.com) in Pigeon Fork, just 5 miles away from Sevierville, provides zipline rides for ages 3 and up. The lines range from 450 to 2,500 feet in length, all providing amazing views of the Smokeys.
Wildlife and Horseback Riding

The kids will likely enjoy visiting the Deer Farm Exotic Petting Zoo (deerfarmzoo.com), home to reindeer, prairie dogs, kangaroos, wallabies, zonkeys and zebras. Kids can pet and feed the animals. Horseback riding and pony rides are also available. Waldens Creek Stables (waldencreekstables.com) has a Wild West atmosphere with more than 500 acres of riding trails and 100 horses. All skill levels are welcome. Five Oaks Riding Stables (fiveoaksridingstables.com) offers horseback riding amid a 70-acre nature park with a lake and mountainous terrain.

Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car Museum (musclecarmuseum.com) is an excellent destination for car-enthusiasts young and old. With more than 90 classic cars, with such favorites as a 1970 Firebird and a 1973 Camaro, the entire family can listen to the engines rev and see the chrome shine. The Tennessee Museum of Aviation (tnairmuseum.com) houses airworthy warbird aircraft in a 35,000-square foot hangar. Exhibits change frequently. Some touring aircraft provide visitors with walk-through tours as well as a way to "ride along" on a historic flight. Visitors can also see planes fire up and take off to the skies at scheduled times. Additionally, the museum has an exhibit gallery of old war photos, memorabilia and fighter pilot uniforms.

If your kids are apple-lovers, they'll likely enjoy a trip to Mountain View Orchard (mountainvieworchard.com). This apple orchard grows 12 different varieties of apples and has more than 1800 trees. The farm sells apples as well as fresh-made apple cider, apple butter and other jams and jellies. Tennessee is home to the most caves in the United States. Forbidden Caverns (forbiddencavern.com) provides guided tours through the extensive caverns where visitors see spectacular formations, natural chimneys, grottos and a crystal clear stream. The tours also feature special-effects lighting and stereophonic sound.
