Email Accounts Not Showing in cPanel

CPanel is a custom software that gives you the ability to manage all aspects of your virtual Web server purchased from a Web host. Email accounts are also handled in CPanel. You add, delete and edit email settings in CPanel, but if you set up these email addresses incorrectly, they do not show up when you view a list of email accounts for the domain.

CPanel Email Setup

  • Before assuming an email inbox was made, recreate the email inbox. If you navigate away from the email setup page before clicking the "Create" button in CPanel, the email account is not created. This is an error made accidentally when you get distracted while creating an email account. Click the "Email" section of CPanel, create a new email inbox account, and view the account list again to verify that it exists.

Verify Email Access

  • You must have permissions to manage email addresses on the CPanel server. This is checked by an administrator who owns the domain. The quickest way to determine if the problem stems from a permission error is to log in as the main domain administrator and view the email list. If the email list shows up for the administrator, give your other domain managers permissions to edit and view email addresses for the domain.

Client Software Connection

  • After a server administrator restores a CPanel server after a server crash, CPanel sometimes has an issue with showing email addresses properly. The quickest way to verify that the email address exists but does not show up in CPanel from a restoration bug is to connect to the email address from your client software. Open the client software you use to access your email address and download email. If the download works fine, the bug is from the restoration, and contact the administrator that the bug exists. If it does not download, recreate the inbox account and ask the administrator to restore the lost email messages.

Use Webmail for Testing

  • If your email servers are incorrectly set up, you can check your email inbox account using the "Webmail" option in CPanel. Click the Webmail icon, and choose a cloud computing inbox application. Any one of the applications can work. The only difference is the interface shown in the browser. If the email address can be viewed, the email address exists, but you might not have permissions or the server administrator needs to fix the issue with the backup restoration.
