What Is Plesk on FTP?
If you run a website, you will likely be familiar with using File Transfer Protocol software to add folders and files to your host account. As well as that, your hosting company may provide a control panel for general host settings. One such control panel is Plesk. If your host uses Plesk, you will see a folder called plesk-stat and others in your host root directory when using your FTP client.

Plesk

Plesk is host management software. Some hosting companies use Plesk on their servers. End users access Plesk through a control panel, known as Parallels. You don't use FTP to access Plesk, though you can still use FTP software to upload or delete files on your own hosted domain. Plesk automatically adds certain folders to your domain host.
Plesk-stat
-
Plesk automatically uses the folder httpdocs as the root directory. This is where all of the core files for a website are located. Using your FTP program, you'll see a folder inside httpdocs called plesk-stat. The folder is used when creating your administrator passwords for the Plesk control panel. You can alter these through the control panel. Removing the plesk-stat folder via FTP may cause access problems in your Plesk account.

FTP and Plesk
-
Logging in through the Plesk control panel allows you to change FTP settings. Select the "Web hosting settings" option under the Web site menu. This brings up domain and hosting settings. One setting under "Account preferences" allows you to choose a new FTP login and FTP password. Enter the new details when connecting to your site via your FTP client.
Other Folders
-
With your FTP client you should be able to see several other folders in your host account. These include the httpsdocs folder, which contains any secure HTTP files, and another plesk-stat folder. Other folders include the Users folder and the Subdomains folder. These contain information on different permitted users and any site subdomains, respectively.
