Add a calender to your web project using Dreamweaver Visual Calendar.

The Dreamweaver Visual Calendar is a Dreamweaver extension that allows you to create a customizable calendar in your project. In addition to basic functionality, you can add mouse-over notes to help keep track of important events. If you are familiar with Dreamweaver extensions, you shouldn't have much trouble getting the Dreamweaver Visual Calendar to work properly. However, if you run into any problems, the calendar has a comprehensive series of error messages to help you figure out the problem and get back on track.

  1. Permissions

    • If your permissions aren't set properly, you won't be able to use the Dreamweaver Visual Calendar. You will need write permissions in the folder TDE_VCalendar/admin/database in order to use the calendar. Use your FTP program to check the permissions on this folder. If you are receiving the "Internal Server" error, this is a clear indicator that you have not set permissions correctly.

    Missing Username or Password

    • If you've misplaced your username or password, you may think you have a crisis on your hands. Fortunately, Dreamweaver Visual Calendar makes it easy to restore your password. Your username and password are stored in the PHP file TDE_VCalendar\admin\Visualcalendar1.php. Line 4 has your username, and line 5 has your password. In you generally have a problem with forgetting passwords, try writing them down and keeping them in a secure location.

Macromedia Extension Manager Out of Date

    • You'll have trouble running the calendar if your Macromedia Extension Manager isn't up-to-date. This is definitely the issue if you receive the following error message: "Extension requires more recent version of Macromedia Extension Manager." The updated version of the software can be downloaded at http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/.

    "TypeError: The_DOM has no properties"

    • If you receive the error "TypeError: The_DOM has no properties," then you may have an issue with the DOM, or document object model. To solve this problem, doublecheck to make sure that you have properly defined your website. Check the structure of your page; make sure that there are no errors in the HTML. Make sure that the "Head" section of your page allows an editable region. After you have done this, restart Dreamweaver.
