A laptop's volume can be controlled in several ways.

Volume controls can be found on the front console of a laptop. If the laptop emits no sound, the volume could be turned off or could be turned down all the way. The Windows operating system also features a speaker volume icon. You can check those options first when a laptop is on mute. If these steps do not work, the laptop might have a hardware problem.
