How to Enhance Eyebrows
Your eyebrows frame your face and draw attention to your eyes. Well-groomed eyebrows contribute to a polished appearance and can help you look younger and more alert. If you have thin, light or excessively plucked eyebrows, eyebrow makeup can enhance your eyebrows. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Determining Eyebrow Shape
-
Place a pencil or makeup brush at the outer edge of your nose so that it extends vertically up to your forehead. The place it hits next to your eyebrows should be the beginning point of your brows. Then place the object at the edge of your nose, extending it at a 45-degree angle diagonally toward your hairline. This is where your eyebrows should end. Avoid excessive plucking of the hairs within these margins.
Shaping and Defining
-
If you want to enhance your eyebrows because they have been excessively plucked, avoid plucking them yourself. Instead, consult a cosmetologist or eyebrow waxer. They can shape your eyebrows for you while you wait for your eyebrows to grow in. A cosmetologist or eyebrow waxer also will tell you which areas to avoid plucking.

Trimming
-
Trimming your eyebrows rather than plucking them is often more effective at enhancing them. To properly trim eyebrows, use an eyebrow brush to comb your eyebrows straight up. Then, using straight-edged eyebrow scissors, trim any hairs that extend above the length of the other hairs.
Filling In
-
Fill in your eyebrows using eyebrow powder rather than a pencil. Pencils tend to create a harsh, unnatural line. With an eyebrow powder brush, use short, light strokes to fill in any gaps. If you have significant bald patches in your eyebrows, moisten the brush prior to dipping it in the eyebrow powder. This layers on more powder, but it will create an unnatural look if you do not have bald patches.
