Why Does the Font Style Change on My AOL Account?
America Online allows you to access the Internet using a screen name, which comes complete with its own display preferences and settings, including font face, color and size. If you observe a different font appearance the next time you log into AOL, your AOL account settings may or may not be to blame, because each AOL account accommodates multiple screen names.

AOL Screen Names
-
The most simple explanation as to why your fonts don't display properly is that you have signed in using a different screen name, either because you use more than one, or because the person who used AOL before you neglected to sign out. To see whether this is the case, choose the "Sign Off" option and select your screen name, then input your password and sign in.
Extent of Settings
-
Font settings within an AOL screen name apply to AOL elements, such as AOL Instant Messenger, AOL email and menus and other navigation utilities within AOL. They don't apply to web pages, which are pre-formatted by their designers. If the font you have selected does not display within a Web page, this is because the Web designer has specified his own font settings for the page.

Different Computers
-
Another reason for your font choice not displaying could be that you accessed AOL through a different computer or operating system. Depending on the computer, operating system and AOL version, the font you have selected for your account may not be available, causing AOL to default to a comparable alternative. Open "NotePad" on the other computer and see if the font you use displays within the list of available fonts for word processing documents.
Unauthorized Access
-
A less likely possibility is that someone got access to your account without your permission and changed the settings. Additional signs of this include other settings being changed or email you don't recognize in the "Sent" folder of your email interface. The unauthorized user may also have deleted the Internet browsing history within AOL to cover his actions.
