MSN Handwriting Help
With MSN Handwriting, a tool developed for MSN Messenger 6, 7 and 8, you can use your mouse pointer as a pen or paintbrush. With the tool installed, MSN Messenger lets you create your own handwritten messages or drawings and send them to chat partners. MSN Handwriting is available through Microsoft Journal Viewer or the Messenger Plus add-on.

About Handwriting Mode

Without the MSN Handwriting tool, MSN Messenger restricts you to typing your messages to chat partners. Typing your message is not the only way to communicate, though. MSN Handwriting allows you to send messages that look exactly the way you want them to. The tool lets you draw pictures and write notes with different colors and pen sizes. MSN Handwriting also lets you copy and paste drawings sent to you.
Get Handwriting with Microsoft Journal Viewer

MSN Messenger does not come with the Handwriting tool installed. Downloading Microsoft Journal Viewer 1.5 is one way to get the Handwriting tool. Microsoft Journal Viewer 1.5 comes with the Ink feature that lets you use Handwriting on MSN Messenger.
Download Microsoft Journal Viewer 1.5 from the Download Center of the Microsoft website. An optional security update for the Journal Viewer is also available and recommended for download. Before installing, sign out of MSN Messenger and close the application. Install Journal Viewer and reopen MSN Messenger to see the "Handwrite" tab on the bottom of the window.

Get Handwriting with Messenger Plus

The Messenger Plus add-on lets you customize your instant messaging experience. Messenger Plus allows you to install new skins and plugins, and it also provides dozens of new icons and emoticons. Go to the Messenger Plus website and click the "Download Free" button to get the add-on.
After installing the Messenger-Plus add-on, download the MSN Handwriting plugin from the Mgsh*t website. Double-click the MSN Handwriting plugin to install it. Open MSN Messenger to use the plugin.
Using MSN Handwriting

When you start a new chat in MSN Messenger, click the "Handwrite" tab to use the tool. Click the pen-size icon to choose from one of three pen sizes. Click the color selection icon to choose a color for your message or drawing. If desired, you can also click the grid icon to place a grid on the screen. This is useful when drawing a picture. Click the border of the message screen and drag the mouse to expand the message window size.
To write or draw, click in the message window and drag the mouse. Let go of the left mouse button to stop writing. Click the eraser icon if you want to delete a mistake. When you finish your message, click "Send."
To copy a message or image sent to you, press "Ctrl" and "C" together. Open a drawing program, such as Microsoft Paint, and press "Ctrl" and "V" to paste the image on the screen.
