Printers Compatible With the Dell Dimension E310
The Dimension E310 is a desktop computer developed by Dell and released in 2006. Standard versions of the E310 came bundled with Microsoft’s Windows XP operating system. They also featured two front-facing and four rear-facing USB ports, making the computer natively compatible with most USB-based printers. However, the E310 could also be equipped with a SCSI card and wireless connectivity, which also makes it compatible with printers that use those connection types.

Laser Printers
-
The E310 is compatible with all laser printers designed to work with Microsoft Windows XP and USB 2.0 ports. Laser printers in general are slightly more expensive than inkjet printers, while having faster average print speeds and better economy in terms of toner consumption, according to PC Magazine. The Dell 1135n is a laser printer compatible with the E310. It prints up to 23 pages per minute and has a maximum duty cycle of 12,000 pages per month. It prints at resolutions up to 1,200 by 1,200 pixels and has a 250-page standard paper tray capacity. The 1135n connects to the computer via a USB 2.0 connection and is compatible with all Microsoft operating systems from Windows 2000 forward.
Inkjet Printers
-
Inkjet printers are generally more affordable than laser printers but more expensive to supply with ink, according to PCMag.com. The Dell V313w is a wireless ink jet printer that can connect to the Dimension E310 via either USB or Wi-Fi. It has a list price of around $60, prints up to 33 pages per minute and has a maximum monthly duty cycle of 3,000 pages. The V313w prints at resolutions up to 4,800 by 1,200 pixels, features a 100-sheet paper capacity and uses Dell Series 21 and Series 22 ink cartridges. The V313w requires a computer with at least 256MB of RAM and 500MB of available hard disk space. Dell sold standard versions of the E310 with 512MB of RAM and 80GB of hard disk space.

Solid Ink Printers
-
Relatively new technology called solid ink printing is also available in printers compatible with the E310. The Xerox ColorQube 8570 is one such device. It prints up to 40 pages per minute, has a maximum monthly print duty cycle of 8,000 pages, and can connect to the Dimension E310 via either USB or Wi-Fi. Because its printer technology is relatively new, the ColorQube is more expensive than devices like the Dell 1135n and V313w, with a list price of around $650 dollars, as of the date of publication.
Multi-Function Devices
-
When shopping for a printer to pair with E310, you may come across devices called multi-function printers. These are devices that combine the capabilities of an ink jet printer, scanner and photocopier in one chassis. Some multi-function devices also have fax capabilities. Major printer manufacturers like Dell, Epson, Lexmark, Xerox and Hewlett-Packard all sell multi-function devices compatible with the Dimension E310.
