"Star Ocean: The Last Hope" is a role-playing game released on the Xbox 360 in 2009, and the PlayStation 3 in 2010. The only difference between the two versions are cosmetic, such as the Japanese language track being only available on the PlayStation 3 and the PS3 having different character portraits; all other aspects of the game are the same. The game follows Edge Maverick, captain of the Calnus spaceship, as he attempts to find a new planet for humankind to inhabit. Edge's journey brings him to many planets, each with its own challenges and stories.
Colosseum

"The Colosseum" is located on the planet Roak. To gain access to it, you must complete two sidequests: "Where's the Receptionist?" and "Sore Throat Soother." Once complete, the colosseum opens. To gain access to the Bunny Races, you must complete the quest "Listless Bunny" from the Bunny trainer inside the colosseum. Once complete, you can access the Bunny Races. In these races, you and your Bunny compete in a race against other opponents, and the winner earns experience points and prizes. It is also possible to earn achievements on the Xbox 360 version and trophies on the PlayStation 3 version for competing certain objectives in the Bunny Races, such as placing first in 100 races.

Increasing Your Bunny's Statistics

Your Bunny has three statistics that impact how it performs during a race: speed, stamina and acceleration. When you first receive your Bunny, all of its statistics are extremely low, making it difficult to win a race. To increase these statistics, you must give your Bunny special pies that you create on the Calnus. The acceleration, stamina and speed pies give your Bunny three points, and the miracle pie gives your Bunny one point in every statistic simultaneously. Feed pies to your Bunny until every statistic is maxed-out before you begin racing.
Dashing and Jumping

Having maxed-out statistics helps you win a Bunny Race, but does not guarantee victory. During a race, you only have control over two of your Bunny's actions: jumping and dashing. Jumping next to an opponent's Bunny allows you to stun it, while jumping at the same time as another Bunny allows you to avoid being stunned. Jump at the beginning of the race to stun your opponents, so that you can take the lead early on. Tap the Dash button in one- to two-second increments to continually apply speed to your Bunny. Using this technique could help you achieve more Bunny Races' victories.
