What Digital Cameras Will Work on a HP Pavilion XT934
The HP Pavilion XT934 desktop computer is an older model that doesn't use plug-and-play devices. Connecting a digital camera takes extra steps and longer loading times to view pictures. Longer loading times occur because newer digital camera connections utilize USB 2.0 or 3.0, when the HP Pavilion can only use slower standard USB speeds.

Digital Camera Connection
-
The computer desktop tower has two USB ports used to connect a digital camera. USB is the most common connection for digital cameras. Plug the USB cord into the camera first, then into the computer and then turn the camera on to establish the connection.
Drivers
-
If your HP Pavilion XT934 doesn't have the updated drivers to support current digital cameras, use your camera's installation disk to install them. If you don't have the disk, access the manufacturer's support website to find the driver downloads and follow the directions for your version of Windows. Without these drivers, you may not be able to connect your camera.

Digital Card Reader
-
If the camera can't connect to your computer, use a digital card reader to allow you access from any type of digital camera. Purchase the card reader that matches the card to your digital camera. Common cards include SD cards, Compact Flash cards and memory sticks. The card readers connect through the USB port and act as a data connection rather than a digital camera connection. Copy and paste the pictures or drag from the card to your hard drive on the computer.
Hard Drive Space
-
The default hard drive with the HP Pavilion XT934 is 30 gigabytes of space. Depending on the software and media installed on your computer, you may not have enough space to store hundreds of pictures. For example, if you have a 10-megapixel camera, you can store only approximately 2,000 pictures before the hard drive is full. The data on the hard drive also causes the computer to slow down significantly. Consider purchasing an expandable hard drive or storage space for pictures.
