How to Identify Authentic Chloe Boots
Chloe is an elite French fashion house specializing in romantic and classic looks with soft colors and a focus on leather goods, such as bags, wallets and boots. While their handbags are imitated more frequently then their boots, both objects have been subjected to scams in which individuals make imitation versions of the original product.

Price
-
According to high end retail sites, such as Barneys and Saks Fifth Avenue, Chloe boots often retail from $400 to $1,000. While there are cheap Chloe boots for under $100, these boots are made out of rubber and are for everyday wear. As a result, online websites and shops that offer these boots at a severe discount are either imitation boots or are stolen. While it is possible to get used Chloe boots for a cheaper price online, authentic Chloe boots should not cost you much less than $400. If the deal seems to good to be true, the boots are most likely imitation, made with synthetic materials in a cheap labor factory.
Materials
-
Authentic Chloe boots are composed of genuine leather that has been properly aged and dyed. If you are deciding whether or not the Chloe boots you are looking at are real or fake, simply touching them to confirm the authentic leather texture will help separate these boots from mere imitations. In addition, Chloe boots will either have YKK zippers or zippers with no logo on them. Any zippers on a Chloe boot that have a different marking indicate an imitation boot. In terms of metal coloring, all brass and silver on the boots should be uniform throughout the boot. A lack of uniformity is an indication of an imitation.
-
Stitching
-
Authentic Chloe boots are composed of high-quality stitching that goes through a series of rigorous tests and quality control inspections before it is approved for retail sale. As a result, any lack of uniformity in the stitching, such as a loose stitch or an uneven thread, reveals that the boots you are looking at are imitations. In addition to uniformity, the stitching should be composed of thick, high-quality thread. If the stitching appears cheap and weak, chances are the boots are fake.
Weight
-
While Chloe boots vary in size, shape and weight, as a general rule, the boots will have a strong weight to them due to the high-quality materials that are used to create the boots. Lifting the boots up before buying them will give you a sense of the quality of the materials, such as the thickness of the wood heel on your boots or the density of the leather on the boot. If you are still unsure, ask to see documentation authenticating the boots.
