My Quickbooks Journal Entries Are Not Printing
Printing QuickBooks entries is often necessary to provide a client with his account information, so printing problems must be fixed in a timely manner. Always make sure that your computer's printer driver is up to date and that you have selected the correct printer to do the job. If you cannot print from QuickBooks to create a hard copy of a document, always utilize the QuickBooks online backup system in the mean time -- otherwise you may be left without a copy of your documents if QuickBooks crashes.

Basic Printer Troubleshooting
-
If your QuickBooks entry will not print, the issue may be with your printer. Try printing something from another program, like a word processing document, to see if it will print successfully. If nothing will print, restart your printer by turning it off and then back on, and check the paper tray to make sure there is paper available and that it is loaded properly.
Offline Printer
-
Even if your printer is connected correctly and loaded with paper, it must be in online status to receive print jobs and complete them. Check the online status of your printer by going to the "Start" menu on your computer and going to the "Control Panel." Choose "Printers and Faxes" and locate the printer you are trying to use. If it has an "Offline" label, right-click the printer and choose "Use Printer Online" from the menu. Double-click on the name of the printer and cancel any pending print jobs, if any exist.

Damaged Document
-
If you are able to get another document to print outside of QuickBooks, open a sample company within QuickBooks to see if a sample document will print. After clicking "File" and then "Close Company" to shut down your own company, a "No Company Open" window will appear. Click on the "Open a Sample File" icon and choose a sample company entry. Attempt to print the document; if it prints, the journal entry that is failing to print is damaged. Either contact QuickBooks customer service, or replicate the entry in a new document and print it.
Large Batches
-
Printing entries in a large batch requires a lot of memory on your computer, and it may overwhelm your printer causing a print freeze. If the document that fails to print is part of a large batch, break up the batch into several smaller groups, or print each entry as a single print job. The number of entries you can successfully print per batch will vary depending on the size of each entry -- including the graphics and template data -- and the available memory on your computer. Try printing a few entries at a time, and increase each batch by one entry if you feel comfortable doing so. If the printer freezes again, reduce the batch number by a few entries and do not raise it again for the duration of your print job.
