Laptops That Are Aluminum

The term aluminum laptops refers to notebook computers housed in aluminum enclosures. Several major computer manufacturers have begun to move away from traditional rigid plastic enclosures and toward chassis constructed out of aluminum, due to the material’s natural rigidity and tendency to remain cool. Though they share the same external construction materials, aluminum laptops can differ significantly in specifications and features.

    • Apple's aluminum 15-inch MacBook Pro measures 14.35 inches wide, 9.82 inches deep and 0.95 inches thick at its thickest point. It weighs 5.6 pounds. Hewlett-Packard's aluminum Envy 14 is slightly smaller than the MacBook Pro, measuring 14.01 inches wide, 9.33 inches deep and 1.16 inches thick. It weighs 5.69 pounds.
