Adobe Contribute Doesn't Copy and Paste
Adobe Contribute is an application that gives you the tools you need to produce online content for use on websites and is part of the company’s Creative Suite package that includes Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. As of December 2011, Contribute CS 5 is the most recent version of the application; this latest version can unfortunately give you problems when it comes to copying and pasting content from other applications.

Microsoft Word
-
Some Adobe Contribute users have reported problems when attempting to copy and paste textual content from Microsoft Word into Contribute. These types of problems are likely linked to formatting such as font typefaces, sizes, colors, spacing and alignment that can cause the code to fail to translate to Contribute. Converting your Word document to Rich Text Format, which is simplified version of the document that contains very basic formatting, can help you resolve this issue. Once the Word document is converted to RTF you should be able to copy and paste the content into Contribute without further problems.
Compatibility
-
Copying and pasting content from competing desktop publishing applications into Adobe Contribute can be the result of the competitor’s efforts to make the applications incompatible with each other. If you are attempting to copy and paste graphics such as photos or clip art from a competitor’s desktop publishing application into Contribute and the process is not working, you can circumvent the predicament by placing the files into Photoshop or InDesign documents and copy and paste the content into Contribute from there. Because Photoshop and InDesign have been around so long they experience fewer compatibility issues than Contribute does because the latter software is a relative newcomer to the Web development field.

File Formats
-
Occasionally you might run into situations where the graphic content you are trying to copy and paste into Adobe Contribute is saved in a format that the application has difficulty identifying. Converting this content into common graphic file formats such as JPG, TIF, BMP or PDF can help you experience fewer problems when copying and pasting into Contribute. If converting these files seems to negate the convenience of copying and pasting, consider attempting only to copy and paste images that are already saved in a common graphic file format.
Alternative
-
A viable alternative to copying and pasting content into Adobe Contribute is using the application’s “Insert” option, which is located at the top of the user interface screen. After clicking on the menu item you are given the option of inserting content from your computer or a particular website. This process, although more lengthy, eliminates the copy and paste process and can result in fewer incompatibility issues.
