Problems With Yahoo Bizmail and Outlook
Yahoo! Bizmail provides unlimited storage, up to 10 email addresses and the ability to manage email through an email client such as Outlook. Problems with sending or receiving Bizmail through Outlook are commonly the result of a need to tweak your mail settings or password issues.

“Timed Out” Message
-
If you receive a “Timed Out” message when attempting to retrieve your Yahoo! Bizmail through Outlook, try connecting to your email account again. The problem is commonly caused by too many users attempting to access email at the same time. If you are still unable to connect, you can log in to the Yahoo! Web interface to send and receive your messages. The interface is accessible through your Web browser. You will need to log in to your Yahoo! Small Business account to view your messages.
Sending Mail Errors
-
When you are able to receive mail but are not able to send it through Yahoo! Bizmail, check your POP email settings. SMTP server authentication must be enabled for you to send email from the account. You can review your settings by accessing your email account from the “Tools” menu in Outlook. After selecting your Yahoo! Bizmail account, click “Change,” and then click “More Settings.” Ensure that “My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication” is checked and save your changes.

Security Software
-
Your security software may be causing problems with Yahoo! Bizmail and Outlook. In some instances, your anti-virus or firewall may be blocking Outlook from connecting to the Internet to access your mail. To determine if this is occurring, temporarily disable your security software and attempt to access your mail through Outlook. If the connection is successfully established, you will need to add an exception to your security for Outlook. Your security software's user guide can help you set up the exception.
Password Issues
-
Ensure you have entered your password correctly when setting up your Yahoo! Bizmail in Outlook if you receive an “Your Password Was Rejected” error message. If you re-enter the password and it is still rejected, you can double-check the password by accessing your account through a Web browser. If you are constantly prompted for your password when accessing your email, ensure that mail forwarding is not active in your account. You cannot forward mail and use Outlook at the same time. You can access the Yahoo! Web interface and review your mail settings in a browser.
